At Starry is Hope, we understand that kind of loss. We honor not only those who served but also the families who continue their legacy of love and resilience.
Our mission is to bring comfort to children and families navigating grief through story, connection, and hope. Our founders’ debut book, Starry’s Journey, was written for Hope — the daughter of our founder — and for all the little ones searching for answers after loss.
This gentle, heartfelt story follows a brave star named Starry who learns to shine again after her daddy disappears from the sky. It’s a tender Storytime companion meant to help young hearts understand that love never truly fades; it simply takes new form among the stars.
To launch this mission, we are searching for 529 families of the fallen to receive a free copy of Starry’s Journey. The number 529 holds deep meaning — it represents both May 29, 2019, the day our founder lost her husband, Todd, an Air Force veteran, and May 29, 2025, the founding date of Starry is Hope. It symbolizes remembrance, rebirth, and the enduring connection between love and legacy.
Each gifted book is more than a story — it’s a message to every child that their loved one’s light still shines, and so does theirs.

Distribution Timeline
The distribution of Starry’s Journey to the 529 Families of the Fallen will take place at the conclusion of our Kickstarter campaign.
This campaign will help fund the first large-scale printing of the book and companion plushies (if goals are reached), allowing Starry is Hope to gift copies directly to families across the nation.
As the campaign concludes, our team will begin packaging and shipping each story with care — ensuring every family receives their copy of Starry’s Journey along with a note of love from Starry herself.
