Courtney Stasko- President & Founder

Courtney Stasko is the Founder and President of Starry is Hope. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Dayton and an MBA in Operational Management from Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Courtney has built a distinguished career in chemical manufacturing and supply chain management, contributing strategic expertise and a commitment to operational excellence. She has served as Board President for Yellow Brick Place, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by cancer, where she played a significant role in strengthening community impact and organizational sustainability. Through her leadership at Starry is Hope, Courtney channels her professional discipline and personal journey to help others find comfort and connection through storytelling and service. She is guided by a belief in service before self and pride in all endeavors, upholding the USAF values that honor her late husband, Todd, and inspire her work.

Eric Schwind- Vice President

Eric Schwind serves as Vice President of the Board and brings both technical proficiency and heartfelt advocacy to the organization. As a journeyman inside wireman, Eric has trained over 200 apprentices in electrical safety and education. He draws upon his personal experiences living with multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis to advocate for mental health and chronic illness awareness. Beyond his technical work, Eric dedicates his time to teaching first aid, CPR, and OSHA classes, empowering others with the knowledge and compassion necessary to remain safe and connected within their communities.

Kristy Gaudiose - Secretary

Kristy serves as the secretary of the Board. Kristy brings an extensive background as a successful business owner since 2014, offering valuable knowledge and insight to the organization. Kristy’s experience includes serving on nonprofit boards during their critical growth phases, where her contributions played a key role in ensuring their ongoing success. In addition to her professional achievements, Kristy is actively involved in her local community and holds a board member position for the annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner. She is academically accomplished with a degree in Marketing Management and holds professional licenses in both insurance and investments.

Liz Hente - Board Member

Liz Hente is a mission-driven leader on the Board of Directors, recognized for her ability to transform bold ideas into enduring, human-centered programs. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Dayton and a Master of Public Health from The Ohio State University. Liz has established a robust career focused on healthcare project management and quality improvement, bringing expertise in program development, research, trauma-informed care, and strategic innovation. At Starry is Hope, Liz applies her passion for storytelling and fostering connections to ensure that no grieving family ever feels abandoned or alone.
